State treasurer offers $100 match on PA 529 Guaranteed Savings Plan accounts
Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity announced an up-to-$100 price match on all PA 529 Guaranteed Saving Plan accounts, but the offer does not last much longer.
Contributions made to new and existing PA 529 GSP accounts will benefit from a matched contribution until Dec. 31, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. The minimum match is $1 and will cap at $100 per account.
Any contribution method is considered eligible, but it must be received before the deadline.
Pennsylvania Treasury noted that some contribution methods may take up to 14 business days before it will fully process.
PA 529 GSP accounts are specifically designed with education savings in mind, and receive state and federal tax benefits. Assets in an account do not impact state financial aid opportunities.
Match contributions are expected to be posted to applicable accounts by March 31, 2025.
