Connoquenessing Township finalizes balanced budget for 2025
There will be no tax hike in 2025 for residents in Connoquenessing Township, where the board of supervisors approved the township’s final budget for the fiscal year 2025 during their special “close of business” meeting on Monday evening, Dec. 30. The budget anticipates both revenues and expenditures for the township to come in at $1,110,436.
There will be no change to the township’s total millage rate of 5.7 mills — 1.75 mills for real estate, plus a 0.95-mill hydrant tax and a 3-mill fire tax which helps fund the Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company.
The township also collects a 1% earned income tax, and in 2025, it expects to take in $620,000 — more than half the township’s anticipated income for the year. Another $129,600 is expected to come from the fire tax — an amount also reflected on the expenses ledger — while $76,242 is expected in real estate taxes.
Aside from the payout to the fire department resulting from the fire tax, the biggest items on the expenditures side of the budget are $221,000 for paying the road crew, $110,000 for employee health insurance, and $65,000 for snow and ice removal materials.
The township will make an $800 donation to the Butler Area Public Library.
