Lucille Wingard
Lucille Annetta Peters Wingard, 94, entered into the kingdom of heaven on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at Passavant Senior Life in Zelienople.
She was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Mabel A. Wahl Peters, born on Feb. 11, 1930.
Lucille graduated from Evans City High school in 1948 and began a 47-year career with Citizens National Bank/NexTier Bank until her retirement in 1995. She was a life member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Evans City, where she taught Sunday school, served on the church council, and was the financial secretary and secretary of the VTC Adult Sunday School Class.
Lucille was a member and past Matron of Bethlehem Chapter 37, Order of the Eastern Star; was on the founding Board of Elsie Hartje Assembly 77, Order of the Rainbow for Girls; served on the EDCO Park Board; was treasurer of the Evans City Service Unit of The Salvation Army for more than 40 years; has been involved with the Evans City Oktoberfest for 26 years, beginning in the 1980s; and served on the Evans City election board for approximately 25 years.
Lucille is survived by her daughter, Luann (Perry) Brosius of Butler; her granddaughter, Pamela Volz of Zelienople; her grandson, Mark (Elaine) Brosius of Pittsburgh; and three great-grandchildren, Paul Volz, Paige Volz and Ava Brosius.
She also is survived by her sister, Marlene Domhoff of Evans City; as well as several nieces and one nephew, Marla Bird, Roberta Domhoff, Jack Mohr, Suzanne Mohr Mackrell and Nancy Mohr; along with her several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wingard, whom she married on June 26, 1951, in Evans City, and who passed away on May 25, 1989; her daughter, Lynette Wingard of Zelienople, who passed away on Sept. 29, 2021; and her nephew, David Mohr.
WINGARD — Friends and family of Lucille Annetta Peters Wingard, who died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 202 Van Buren St., Evans City, with Pastor Brandon Johns officiating.
She will be laid to rest at Evans City Cemetery.
