1 person taken to a hospital in I-79 rollover crash Wednesday
One person was taken to a hospital after his vehicle rolled over around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, near the 90.8 mile marker in the southbound lane on Interstate 79.
One person was in the vehicle, a Honda crossover, which landed on its roof in the crash, according to Chief Doug Pickett, of the Harmony Fire District.
Pickett said the driver was out of the vehicle when crews arrived, and did not appear to be severely injured. The driver was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
“He left the right side, hit an embankment, the vehicle was on its roof,” Pickett said.
Pickett said crews closed one lane of I-79 south while they dealt with the crash. It took nearly an hour and 20 minutes for crews to remove the vehicle from the side of the road and clear the scene.
Harmony EMS and Portersville Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the crash.
