Cherry Township will have total budget of $505,000 in expenses for the 2025 fiscal year.

Residents of Cherry Township can expect the same amount for total township income, though township secretary Carolyn Yeager emphasized income figures are estimates.

To balance the budget, the township kept the same figure for expenses and income, making an effort to not go over that, officials said.

“We don’t have any major increases from last year to this year, we just try to squeeze in what we need with what we have,” Yeager said.

Tax rates were unchanged for 2025, set at 4.5 mills for the township and 1.5 mills to support the fire department.

A mill equals $1 in tax revenue for each $1,000 of a property's assessed value.
