College roundup: Slippery Rock men’s basketball wins 6th straight in return from holiday break
Slippery Rock men’s basketball ran its win streak to six with a 73-61 home win over Seton Hill on Friday night.
It was The Rock’s first game since Dec. 21, but they extended the third-longest win streak in the PSAC right now and stayed in second in the West Division.
Five players reached double digits in scoring, led by Maceo Austin’s 15. He also had seven rebounds and five assists. Luke Howes and Jomo Goings scored 13, Ike Herster 12 and Bobby Clifford 10.
SRU (8-6, 5-2 PSAC) hosts PSAC West foe Pitt-Johnston on Monday.
No. 11 Seton Hill beat SRU women’s basketball 82-57, handing The Rock their third loss in their last four games, all by double digits.
Only Regan Atkins reached double figures for Slippery Rock with 12 points and six rebounds, nearly matching her season averages of 12.5 and 6.5. SRU (5-7, 3-4 PSAC) struggled shooting the ball, making just 18 of 49 shots (36.7%).
The Rock host Pitt-Johnstown on Monday in another PSAC showdown.
