Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute announced the appointment of Dr. Chirag Shah, as chairman of its Department of Radiation Oncology.

Shah began Jan. 1 and comes to Pittsburgh from Cleveland Clinic where he previously served as the director of clinical research, director of breast radiation oncology and director of strategic growth in the department of radiation oncology.

He has over 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has delivered dozens of presentations at national and international conferences.

Shah received his bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University.
