Gary Terwilliger Sr.

Gary R. Terwilliger Sr., 84, of Mercer, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at his residence of natural causes.

Born in Perry Township, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Wayne “Dutch” and Mable Crispen Terwilliger.

He spent much of his working life as a truck driver, being employed with Dandy Transportation of Cranberry Township and later employed with Walmart of Grove City.

He was affiliated with Mercer United Methodist Church, as well as a number of fraternal Masonic organizations.

Gary was an avid fisherman and quite proud of a number of trophy fish caught in his lifetime. He had many fishing “buddies” both in Pennsylvania and South Carolina.

Gary is survived by a son, Gary R. Terwilliger Jr. of Mercer; grandson, Tyler Terwilliger of Las Vegas, Nev.; granddaughter, Meghan Terwilliger of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters-in-law, Faith Terwilliger of Eau Claire and Darla Terwilliger of Chicora; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

TERWILLIGER — Visitation for Gary R. Terwilliger Sr., who died Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire, where a funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.

Gary will be laid to rest at the family plot at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dutch Hill at 10 a.m. Friday morning.
