Christina ‘Chris’ Peters

Peters

Christina “Chris” Peters, 74, of New Castle, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025.

Born on March 7, 1950, in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Stanislaw and Helena Janiack Stachowiak. Chris immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 1, through Ellis Island in June of 1951, along with her 3-year-old brother and her parents.

Chris was a loyal member of Victory Church in Cranberry Township. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping and going camping in Clarion and loved sitting at campfires with friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her sister’s family to Niagara Falls and Myrtle Beach. Chris loved meeting family and friends for lunches or dinners and especially meeting her son for coffee at McDonald’s, where they would talk for hours. Chris was an avid pet lover and cherished her cat, Bella, who had thoroughly trained her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Eric Fisher and Sherri Decker; her sister, Helen (James) Rice; her brothers, John and Raymond Stachowiak; her three grandchildren, Jared, Brendan and Jordan Decker; and her former husband, Jerry Fisher.

In addition to her parents, Chris was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Stachowiak.
