Blanche Burgess
Blanche Dorothy Burgess, of Zelienople, passed away peacefully while under the care of Lutheran Senior Life on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025.
She was born Blanche Creedon, daughter of John and Dorothy Creedon, on April 6, 1928, in the Manchester section of Pittsburgh.
Blanche worked as a telephone operator, first for Bell Telephone when she was a young, unmarried lady, and later in life as an overseas operator for AT&T.
She truly enjoyed traveling, and crisscrossed the country numerous times, as well as visiting Europe with her husband. She was an avid reader, and she was very proud of her Irish heritage. Blanche loved her family above all.
She was married for 70 happy years, to Fred J. Burgess, who preceded her in death in 2020.
Blanche is survived by her three children, Patricia (Donald) Bell of Westview, Fred (Luba) Burgess of Mt. Lebanon and Vincent (Kathi) Burgess of Zelienople; as well as her seven loving grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
BURGESS — A Mass of Christian burial for Blanche Dorothy Burgess, who died Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople.
Arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
