The South Butler Community Library will give step-by-step instructions on how to tap a maple tree for syrup at a program Saturday, Jan. 11.

The session will begin at 1 p.m., when attendees will learn about gathering tree nectar and making maple syrup at home. The session also will have the supplies necessary for tapping.

The session is free to attend; registration is preferred but not required. Walk-ins are welcome, and snacks will be provided.
