Police cite 26-year-old woman with careless driving following fatal Lawrence County crash
A 26-year-old woman was cited with careless driving following a fatal crash earlier this week in Neshannock Township in Lawrence County.
Reina M. Smith, of Clark, Pa., lost control of the Toyota Tacoma she was driving east on I-376 at around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, traveling through the median and striking a guardrail before crashing into a Ford Transit driven by Neil Plummer, 41, Greenville, state police said.
Plummer died in the crash, and Smith was taken via Stat MedEvac to a Youngstown hospital for treatment.
According to a crash report, the crash happened near mile marker 8.9, and Smith’s vehicle struck a guardrail in addition to the Ford Transit.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
