Edinburg man charged with making terroristic threats
Charges have been filed against a man from Edinburg, Lawrence County, after he reportedly threatened violence against a Slippery Rock borough resident and her father, as well as multiple police officers.
Carl R. Antoniazzi, 42, of Edinburg, has been charged with two counts of terroristic threats with intention to terrorize another, and one count of disorderly conduct.
According to the police affidavit, officers were initially called on Tuesday night, Jan. 7, to an apartment building on Grove City Road in Slippery Rock, where Antoniazzi was banging against a woman’s door and screaming.
The affidavit goes on to state that the woman — who was living there with multiple young children — told police she wanted Antoniazzi to leave, but Antoniazzi told police he couldn’t because the address was the one on file with his probation officer. At the time, Antoniazzi was wearing an ankle monitor.
Eventually, according to the affidavit, Antoniazzi started making threats against the woman and her father, while also threatening to shoot the police officers who had gathered on the scene. He was placed under arrest at the scene, but he continued to make threats against the woman and her father, according to the affidavit.
Antoniazzi’s preliminary hearing has been set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in front of Judge Joseph Nash. He is being held in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail.
