Shane Peters was at it again Friday night, posting another double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds in Karns City’s 74-49 boys basketball victory over Moniteau.

Cole Johnston added 21 points and seven boards for the Gremlins (4-7) and Jacob Jones scored 19 and distributed seven assists.

Braden Beachem and Brendin Sankey both had 11 points for Moniteau (2-10).

Highlands 49, Freeport 45 — Carson Kane scored 17 points for the Yellowjackets (3-9, 1-4), who led at halftime before getting outscored 19-8 in the third quarter.

Hannah Windows (232-607) and Kylie McConahy (223-578) led Freeport’s girls to a 5-2 victory against Kiski Area on Friday.

The boys swept the Cavaliers 7-0, with Colin Cummings rolling a 644 series and Nirvan Harrell (201, 204) and Christian Como (202) adding games of 200-plus.
