Kenneth McKeever

McKeever

Kenneth “Ken” D. McKeever, 65, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025.

He was born on Nov. 17, 1959, and was the son of Thomas and the late Loraine McKeever. Ken graduated from Alfred University with his bachelor’s degree and went on to get his master’s degree at Pitt. He worked at AK Steel for 24 years, then at PLS Logistics until his retirement.

Ken passionately pursued many hobbies, was a long-term Scout leader, taught kids at church, volunteered at the local food bank, and loved reading and history. He loved trying new things once. He loved the Lord and his family, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Ken was a member of the Community Alliance Church where he led a small group and a member of the Keystone Button Club; and he was the editor of the newsletter of the Pennsylvania Button Society.

He did his best to present himself to God as one approved, a worker who did not need to be ashamed and who correctly handled the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

Ken is survived by his wife, Nancy Day McKeever, whom he married Oct. 16, 1982; his son, Isaac (Amy) McKeever; his daughter, Katie (Patrick) Mentzer; his four granddaughters; his father, Thomas McKeever; his sister, Kimberly (Wayne) Hilker; and his brother, Kevin (Darla) McKeever.
