CLAY TWP — Two vehicles crashed into each other on state Rt. 8 on Saturday, Jan. 4, before one fled from the scene, according to a report released by state police.

Police received a call around 5:30 p.m. for a hit and run crash. James Lacaze, 66, of Boyers, was attempting to pass Emily Derflinger, 29, of Beaver Falls, when both vehicles drifted into one another, police said.

After the collision, the vehicles came to a stop in a ditch. According to police, Derflinger was able to drive out of the ditch and flee the scene.

No was injuries were reported. Both drivers were cited.
