One hospitalized after crash on I-79 in Cranberry Township

One driver was transported to UPMC Passavant after a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township on Saturday, Jan. 11.

The crash took place on I-79 South, near the intersection with Route 228. A 2020 Honda Civic, driven by 23-year-old Molly E. Knezevich of Pittsburgh, was traveling south on I-79 when the vehicle traveled over some slush. Knezevich lost control of the Civic and made a 180-degree turn into the path of a 2016 GMC vehicle traveling in the right lane. The vehicles collided head-on, with both suffering minor front-end damage.

Knezevich was transported to UPMC Passavant by Cranberry Township EMS, with what a police report listed as a “suspected minor injury.” On top of this, she was charged with driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
