Eric Sigler

Sigler

Eric Michael Sigler, 63, of Cranberry Township, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025.

Born in New Castle on Nov. 7, 1961, to Roger and Dorothy (Pasquale) Sigler, Eric was a focused and hardworking student who enjoyed wrestling in his teen years. He was a proud alumnus of Penn State University, where he studied accounting.

Eric married Linda Sue Solensky in June 1985, the beginning of a 28-year marriage. After a brief stint in Houston, Texas, Eric and Linda put roots down in Charlottesville, Va., where they raised their family. Their children, Rachel, 34, and Austin, 32, were Eric’s proudest achievements and greatest sources of joy. The Sigler family traveled frequently all over the world.

Eric enjoyed a successful career in finance and accounting, spending the majority of his years at Klockner Pentaplast and making lifelong friends across parts of Europe and South America.

For a man who despised the cold, Eric later returned to the suburbs of Pittsburgh to begin a new chapter with Theresa “Jay” Toney. The pair wed on the beach at sunrise in July 2021, marking a beautiful second act for both the bride and groom. They built their dream home together and cherished happy hours and weekly games of pickleball with neighbors and friends. In his final years, Eric enjoyed making memories with his bonus family in Cranberry Township.

Known for his dry sense of humor, impeccable wardrobe, and love of all things Penn State Nittany Lions, anyone close to Eric also knew him as fiercely loyal and deeply committed to his network of family and friends. In 2023, Eric was honored to earn the title of “Pap” — and learned the unparalleled joy that comes from loving a grandchild.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy; his mother-in-law, Barbara Solensky; his wife, Theresa Jay; his siblings, Roger (Selene) and Lorraine; his daughter, Rachel Manni (Justin); his son, Austin (Amy); his granddaughter, Charlotte; his stepchildren, Tanya Speicher (Bryan), Kevin Elliott (Karen) and Steve Elliott (Christina); his stepgrandchildren, Dylan (Maddie), Drew (Faith), Alexa, Gideon, Violet, Cole, Jack and Tyson; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Wrenley and Slate; and many extended family and friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Roger; and his first wife, Linda.
