Of Note: The museum celebrate’s the game’s history by collecting and preserving important historical artifacts and celebrates the game’s great champions. As part of the permanent galleries, the Pope House features rooms named for Arnold Palmer, Bob Jones, Ben Hogan, Mickey Wright and Jack Nicklaus. These galleries feature the foremost collections related to these legendary players and document their remarkable accomplishments, both on and off the course.

Of Note: Visitors to the Sports Museum’s golf section can discover and relive the greatest moments in Western Pennsylvania golf history, from local pro Sam Parks shocking the golf world at the 1933 U.S. Open, to Jack Nicklaus’ 1962 triumph over Palmer in his “own back yard” at Oakmont, to Johnny Miller’s still-unmatched “63” round in the 1973 U.S. Open.

Of Note: This exhibition will explore who, where, and how the game of golf has evolved over the centuries, the technological advances made, the rich history of golf in the Augusta region, and the people that have made this game so special for so many.
