Jerry Berger
Jerry R. Berger, 75, of Cabot, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 30, 1949, he was the son of James R. Berger and Mildred Morrison Berger.
Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam as a reconnaissance specialist (11D), where he received the Purple Heart and was a Bronze Star recipient.
He was a member of Saxonburg Memorial Church.
Jerry was the owner of Berger's Market in Saxonburg for many years and had worked at Family Toy Warehouse, Dollar General and Dollar Tree. He had a love for service and country, Steelers football and his golden retriever, Stryker.
Surviving are his two sons, Lt. Col. Jay (Kelli Weleski) Berger of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., and Joel (fiancée, Rachel Nill) Berger of Bellefonte, Pa.; three grandchildren, Lani, Jace and Nella Berger; and his longtime companion, Laurie Coury.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
BERGER — Friends of Jerry R. Berger, who died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Doug Dorsey officiating.
