Red Cross providing assistance to victims of California wildfires
More than 300 American Red Cross workers are trying to make sure no one faces the California fires alone.
The Red Cross is coordinating closely with its partners to provide food, shelter, comfort, emotional support and other critical services to people in the affected area, according to Nicole Roschella, regional communications director for Red Cross. Nearly 900 evacuees woke up in Red Cross shelters Sunday morning, Jan. 12, many of whom are struggling after losing everything.
Families are depending on the Red Cross for assistance now, and financial donations to the agency are the best way to provide support from Pennsylvania, Roschella said. People can donate to help people affected by the 2025 California wildfires by making a donation at redcross.org.
