Robert Bittner Jr.
Robert A. Bittner Jr., 90, of Zelienople, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, while under the care of Kadima in Harmony.
Born Jan. 6, 1935, he was the son of the late Robert A. Bittner Sr. and Gretchen Brooks Bittner.
He was the brother of William Bittner Sr., the late David “Tuck” Bittner and Leslie Blystone. He was the husband of his late wife, Constance, whom he loved dearly. Bob was a loving father to David (Jill) Bittner of New Sewickley Township and Veronica Giel (Raymond) Wright of Harmony. He was the proud grandfather of Virginia (Colin) Milne, the late Elizabeth (Rod) Schnell, Emily (Paul) Duchow and Jonathan (Kaitlyn) Bittner; and great-grandfather of Jack and Violet Milne and Ruby Duchow.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. After his discharge, he worked as a mounted police officer for a few years in Pittsburgh. After his service in the police, he became a sales manager for Modern Partitions (which later became Haworth Inc.). Later Bob worked as a cook for the Kaufman House and finally Venango Trails Golf Course in Cranberry Township. He spent many summers, as a volunteer, selling tickets along the main street of Zelienople for the Volunteer Fire Department. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
BITTNER — Private funeral arrangements for Robert A. Bittner Jr., who died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, have been entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
