Shirley Protzman
Shirley Ann Protzman, 91, of Fenelton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025.
She was born Sept. 23, 1933, in Butler, to the late Raymond Fair and Alice Gould Fair. Shirley married the love of her life, LaVerne Protzman, in 1954. They were married for 54 years before LaVerne passed in 2009.
Shirley belonged to St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and retired from the Butler Area School District after 20 years of service.
Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Dwight (Linda) Protzman of Saxonburg; her daughters, Rose (Randy) Morrow of Fenelton and Kate (David) LaSota of Patton, Pa.; her six grandchildren; as well as seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Laura (George) Brothers; one sister-in law, Emma Protzman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne; and three brothers, Ronald, Richard and Darrell Fair.
PROTZMAN — Friends and family of Shirley Ann Protzman, who died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, in the chapel of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler, and one hour before the service, which will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 17, in the main sanctuary with the Rev. David Phillips, senior pastor, officiating.
Burial will take place at the Gruenwald Cemetery, Summit Township.
