Grove City school district hires new superintendent
Joshua Weaver will serve as the next superintendent for Grove City Area School District.
Weaver has worked for the district as its assistant superintendent since 2016. He will replace Jeffrey Finch, who announced his retirement in December.
Weaver will officially start July 1.
According to a news release from the school district, Weaver has 22 years of experience in public education. He previously worked as a physics teacher at Seneca Valley School District, as an assistant principal at Hopewell and as principal at Allegheny Valley Schools and Kiski Area.
“It’s been great to have Dr. Weaver working in the district the past nine years and elevating him to the position will allow us to provide an institutional knowledge and a continuity of leadership,” school board member Augie Hurst said in the news release. “This also shows the great strength and vision of Dr. Finch working with Dr. Weaver toward this transition.”
Weaver is a resident of Evans City.
“I’ve always liked this quote from Henry Ford, ‘Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success,’” Weaver said in the news release. “I believe we accomplish so much more as a team than as an individual. Every piece of the puzzle matters and makes a difference.”
