SRU receives grant from West Penn Energy Fund
Through a grant from the West Penn Energy Fund, Slippery Rock University is aiming to increase energy efficiency and spread sustainability education with the community.
The SRU Foundation accepted a grant from the West Penn Energy Fund worth $22,500 that will used by SRU's Macoskey Center for Sustainability Education and Research which is a 70-acre, on-campus sustainability education, demonstration and research center.
Money from the grant will be used to purchase appliances for energy efficiency updates to the Macoskey Center's kitchen as well as purchasing an energy audit by Envinity, an energy consulting firm aimed at identifying areas for reducing energy usage and operational costs, according to the university.
