Crowd lines up for chance at view of parade in D.C. as Trump is sworn into office
While Donald Trump was officially sworn-in as the 47th president of the United States Monday, Jan. 20, at noon, long lines spiraled from the Capital One Arena with guests who hoped to make it inside for a chance to see the inaugural parade led by Butler County first repsonders.
Nearly 100 first responders who served at Trump’s July 13th Butler County rally, where the now-president survived an assassination attempt, traveled to Washington D.C. to march in the parade.
Amid the hectic scene outside of the arena, many guests remained disappointed over the original canceled plans while also taking in the atmosphere.
“Honestly I wasn’t expecting this many people to be here, it’s pretty cool. I’m kinda of sad that the parade can’t happen outside, but I’m very fortunate to be here and see everybody supporting him,” Ryan Krist, a native of Hampton Township, Pennsylvania said Monday afternoon.
For many in the crowd, it was a full circle moment seeing their favored candidate sworn in for a second time following the July rally shooting.
“I think it’s truly liberating for everybody to see that, to always never give up hope, follow your faith and just have trust that eventually, good things will happen if you let them do good,” Tyler Parker, a resident of Ocean City, New Jersey said outside of Capitol One Arena.
