High school roundup: Jackson Bauman scores 21, Knoch boys basketball routs Burrell

Five Knoch players scored in double figures as the Knights breezed to a 73-47 boys basketball victory over Burrell on Tuesday.

Leading the way for Knoch (12-4, 7-1) was Jackson Bauman with 21 points, followed by Zane Pacek with 12.

Teegan Finucan and Liam Avon both scored 11 and Derek Lang 10.

Burrell (6-9, 3-5) was led by Tucker Bitar’s 19 points.

Seneca Valley 53, North Allegheny 50 — Nico Santapau had 15 points and Owen Congdon 14 for the Raiders (11-6, 8-1).

Ryan Priester added 11 points in the victory.

Mars 70, Keystone Oaks 26 — The Planets received 15 points from Drew Navetta, 13 from Will Wilson and 12 courtesy of Austen Wroblewski.

Mars improved to 9-7 with the victory.

Swimming

Mars dropped both meets to Plum, the boys by a 92-76 score and the girls 88-64.

For the boys, Preston Heynes won the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke.

Senior Sarah Maloney led the way for the girls with a first-place finish in the 100 freestyle.

Rifle

Butler defeated Hempfield 799(54x) to 794(52x). No other information was provided.

Postponements

Slippery Rock boys basketball’s road game against rival Grove City was postponed until 7:30 p.m. Feb. 1.

Union/A-C Valley girls basketball’s road game against Keystone was postponed. No makeup date has yet been set.
