Jackson Township approves initial plans for Valley’s Edge Residential Development
Jackson Township supervisors moved forward with plans for a new development that will continue to expand residential property in the area.
At a meeting on Jan. 13, supervisors unanimously approved a tentative application for the Valley’s Edge Residential Development, which calls for the construction of 97 single-family units and 125 townhomes.
After initially presenting plans to officials about eight months ago, it was one of the first steps in the process for developers from Infinity Custom Homes.
Infinity Custom Homes has been busy over the last several years throughout Western Pennsylvania, making plans for or building several residential developments in Cranberry Township, Seven Fields and Mars in the Mars and Seneca Valley school districts.
“Relatively speaking, it is several phases,” said township manager Chris Rearick. “It is anticipated that the plan would build out over several years.”
The master plan for the project details that the units would be built near Gudekunst and Zehner School roads. The open space has attracted more residential properties in recent years as the township continues to expand.
“The Gudekunst Road and Tollgate School Road have basically developed as the township’s primary residential corridors,” said Rearick. “The township has worked to ensure that there is adequate infrastructure in cooperation with the developers. In the case of this particular plan and others on Gudekunst Road, they will contribute through an assessment, impact and incentive zoning fees to additional improvements on the corridor, and that includes improvements to the intersection of Zehner School Road and Gudekunst Road.”
