2025 budget for Brady Township sees significant drop in revenue, expenses

BRADY TWP — Revenue and expenditures for the township’s 2025 budget are expected to be lower than 2024, and no property tax hike is slated for residents.

The budget and tax resolutions for 2025 were passed by supervisors at the Dec. 17, 2024 meeting.

The expected income and expenses for the year are set at $596,062. For 2024, this number was set at $732,444.

According to Michelle Thompson, secretary and treasurer for the township, the drop was caused by expenses related to the construction of roads and a new township municipal building.

Brady Township residents will continue to pay 12.15 mills toward the township’s property and fire taxes. According to the 2025 budget, the township expects an income of $83,000 in property tax.

One of the largest expenses listed on the budget is for the construction of a new township building. The budget allots $60,000 for building supplies. The new building is expected to open in the spring.

Also included in the budget is a $210,000 expense on professional services for highway maintenance. The money will be pulled out of the township’s capital reserve and liquid fuels accounts in addition to the general fund.
