Leo William Echement, 77, of Slippery Rock, passed away quietly doing the things he loved, caring for his farm animals, on his farm on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025.

He was born in Sewickley, Beaver County on Nov. 25, 1947, to Leo William Echement and Shirley Evans Echement. Leo graduated from the New Castle School of Trades in 1966.

He married Joanne Ferg on Oct. 9, 1999, and she survives at the residence. Leo had a very successful career working for various companies doing auto body repairs. He enjoyed farming and working on old cars.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne, at home; three daughters, Kathyrn Rivera of Erie, and Loretta Kirkwood and Shashea Harsh, both of Slippery Rock; two brothers, Lane and John Echement; and five grandchildren, Shane, Allie, Jackson, Lucy and Nikolai.

He was preceded In death by his sister, Sue Casasanta; and brother, Butch Evans.

ECHEMENT — Per his request, there will be no public services for Leo William Echement, who died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025.

Memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice.
