4-H fleece club takes second place at state competition

The Butler County Fabulous Fibers 4-H Club took home the title of Reserve Grand Champion at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show for the shawl they produced in the fleece to shawl competition on Jan. 8.
The team, made up of five girls and an alternate, practiced making shawls for months before taking on the state-level competition in Harrisville. In addition to taking second place in the competition, one of the team’s members, Nicole Michel, got a special individual weavers award. The team sold the shawl they made there for $800.
