Catholic church assets used for good
Recently, Pastor Pistorious from Chicora criticized the Catholic church for having assets of $73 billion. If those assets were sold, 8 billion people would get about $9.70, minus selling expenses.
We pray that Pastor Pistorious loves God and neighbors enough to not want to close more than 200,000 Catholic schools, 5,405 Catholic hospitals, 9,703 Catholic orphanages, 15,267 Catholic homes for the elderly, 14,205 Catholic medical dispensaries, hundreds of thousands of Catholic churches, and 534 Catholic places for people with leprosy that make the Catholic church the world's largest nongovernment provider of education and health care that would be sold to put $9.70 (minus selling expenses) into the world's 8 billion pockets.
We would be better off if more pastors were blessed with the courage to ask: Are needlessly high taxes for unnecessary expenditures hurting young families and making our Sunday schools emptier than we'd like them to be?
