Cranberry Township gymnast gets perfect 10 on uneven bars
Ally Vallozzi, a 9-year-old gymnast from Avonworth, scored a 10 out of 10 for her routine on the uneven bars at a meet Jan. 11 in Butler.
Lindsey Stancil, owner and head coach of X-Cel Gymnastics in Cranberry Township, where Vallozzi practices, said achieving a 10 on the bars is difficult.
“Achieving a perfect 10 is something many athletes strive for, but few attain,” Stancil said. “The uneven bars are widely accepted as one of the harder apparatus to master, and to achieve a perfect 10 on the uneven bars at such a young age is truly an amazing feat.”
According to Vallozzi’s mom, Rachel Vallozzi, her daughter has been going to X-Cel Gymnastics for about four years, and this is her second year on the competition team.
Vallozzi practices twice a week and, aside from the uneven bars, she also competes in floor, vault and beam events.
