Ryan Joseph Osche, 46, of Petrolia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at his residence.

He was born on Aug. 31, 1978, in Butler, to Gary and Leona (Peplowski) Osche.

Ryan graduated from Butler High School in 1996. He then decided to enlist in the Marines, where he proudly served his country for four years. He went on to work for the Mercer County Department of Corrections as a corrections officer. Ryan was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, as well as American Legion Post 117. He enjoyed riding and working on his motorcycle, hunting and fishing, as well as spending time with his loving family.

Ryan is survived by his parents, Gary E. Osche and Leona E. Osche; his daughter, Rylee Osche; his son, Liam Osche; his stepdaughter, Samantha Shuler; his sister, Jennifer (Bill) Hockenberry; as well as by numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul Osche and Margaret Osche and John Peplowski and Leonora Peplowski; as well as his aunts, Ann Lopiccolo, Joann Collins and Carole Boice.

OSCHE — Family and friends of Ryan Joseph Osche, who died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Wendelin Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler, with Father Al Morris officiating. A military service with full honors will be held directly after the Mass of Christian burial at the church.
