William Minich

Minich

William “Bill” Minich, 82, of Butler, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, at Quality Life Services — Sarver.

Born in Butler on April 22, 1942, he was the son of the late Ruth Moore and John Minich. He graduated from Butler High School in 1960 before honorably serving in the U.S. Army. After the military, he was hired at Armco Steel Corp. where he worked for 40 years prior to retiring in 2003.

Bill was an avid hunter, golfer and fisherman in his free time and also played softball for many years. He took great pride in both his flower and vegetable gardens and would spend countless hours ensuring that they thrived. Bill was also a fanatical Pittsburgh sports fan and rarely missed watching Pirates baseball games.

Bill was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis (Miller) Minich, whom he married on Nov. 28, 1964, at Trinity Lutheran Church; father of Eileen (Gary) Tuck and Brian (Elizabeth Holmen) Minich; grandfather of Courtney (Aaron) Taylor and Ryan and Eric Tuck; and great-grandfather of Peyton Taylor.

Along with his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, John Minich; and sister, Joanne Fogel.

MINICH — Family and friends of William “Bill” Minich, who died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home. A luncheon will follow at the Unionville Volunteer Fire Department, 102 Mahood Road, Butler.
