Light snow, average temperatures expected throughout week
Temperatures are expected to hover close to normal the week of Monday, Jan. 27, according to meteorologist David Schallenberger from the National Weather Service.
While temperatures have risen compared to last week, the area is still expected to see some snowfall Tuesday and Wednesday. The accumulation is expected to remain low and not stay on the ground for as long as it has recently.
Monday is expected to be sunny, with temperatures reaching a high in the mid-30s and a low in the mid-teens. Overnight, some snow is expected to hit the area, with an estimated accumulation of 1-2 inches.
The snow will continue into Tuesday morning, where Schallenberger warned of snow squalls impacting visibility.
After the snow dissipates, Tuesday’s temperature is expected to sit at a high in the mid-30s and a low in the mid-20s. Wind gusts are expected to impact the area.
Schallenberger said Wednesday will see more continuous snowfall throughout the day, but is only expected to accumulate 1 inch or less. Temperatures are expected to be slightly above normal, with a high in the high-30s and a low in the teens.
Schallenberger mentioned that while Wednesday’s accumulation for the county overall is expected to be low, areas may see increased or decreased accumulation depending on factors such as location.
Thursday is expected to be the end of snowfall for the meantime, with the weather being mostly sunny and temperatures returning to the normal high in the mid-30s and a low in the mid-20s.
According to Schallenberger, temperatures are expected to go above the average on Friday, up to a high of 41 and a low in the mid-20s. Rain is expected throughout the day, and may carry into the weekend.
