Sandra Louise “Sandy” Beegle, 78, of East Butler, formerly of Bruin, passed away in the company of her loving daughter Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 28, 2025.

Sandra was born in Weymouth, Mass., on Nov. 4, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Warren and Barbara Irving Stewart.

Sandy graduated from Weymouth High School in Massachusetts and later earned an associate degree from Garland Junior College in nutrition and dietetics.

Sandra was a member of the East Butler Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon.

She had been employed in the cafeteria at Karns City Area High School for a number of years.

She was well-known among family and friends for her delicious chocolate chip cookies. Sandy enjoyed kayaking, floating in the swimming pool at home, flower gardening and fishing trips with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Beegle, who passed away on July 24, 2013. The couple had met while John was serving in the U.S. Coast Guard at Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket and was married in Braintree, Mass., on May 14, 1966.

Surviving are a son, Charles F. Beegle of East Brady; and a daughter, Darlene A. Roy of East Butler. Sandy was affectionately “Nana” to her grandchildren, whom she adored. She made sure each grandchild had an annual “special day” with her. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene; and a sister, Margery.

BEEGLE — Private funeral arrangements for Sandra Louise “Sandy” Beegle, who died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, are under the direction of HILE FUNERAL HOME OF CHICORA.
