Supervisors plan upgrades to Cranberry Highlands clubhouse
Despite declining a multimillion dollar renovation, Cranberry Township supervisors still are prepared to upgrade certain areas of the clubhouse at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course.
At an upcoming meeting Thursday, Feb. 6, supervisors will be asked to consider contract awards for a roof replacement and plumbing repairs.
The bid for a total renovation of the clubhouse came in at more than $3.2 million, which was more than a million over budget and prompted officials to reject the project.
However, roof leaks and plumbing in the locker rooms were pressing issues that needed to be addressed, according to township manager Dan Santoro.
“Now we’re going to go back and replace the roof, so that’s one component,” he said. “We have plumbing issues and have had a number of plumbing issues at the clubhouse, so that separate bid is to address routine maintenance in order to fix those plumbing problems.”
Bids for repairs are expected to come in Tuesday, which will give officials time to choose the lowest responsible offers.
Additionally, supervisors will consider purchase approvals for several updates to the clubhouse’s banquet room.
Those purchases include new flooring from Butler Floor & Carpet for $26,000, painting services from Daniel P. Sturgess for $8,062 and a contract to install a permanent bar in the banquet room.
The course itself will receive a face lift. Supervisors will consider approval of a $50,000 contract with Fry Straka Globel for design services in regards to bunker renovations.
