Lippold

Dorothy L. Lippold, 89, of Grove City, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at UPMC Family Hospice.

Dorothy was born in Butler May 4, 1935, and was the daughter to Lester V. and Neta C. (Faux) Portzman.

She married Howard T. Lippold on May 8, 1953. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2022.

Dorothy attended Mitchell Grade School and was a graduate of Butler High School in 1952.

She retired from First National Bank of Western Pennsylvania in 1998 where she held various customer service positions at a number of branch locations.

Dorothy was a member of East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City.

Throughout her life, she had an interest in gardening, and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing cards with friends. She and Ted had visited all 50 states, as well as traveling to Germany. She also enjoyed her time as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and for various functions at church.

She is survived by her four children, Jeff Lippold of Houston, Texas, Greg (Vicky) Lippold of Bentleyville, Pa., Brian (Viola) Lippold of Embden, Maine, and Susan (Matthew) Cyphert of Grove City; four grandchildren, Emily (Aaron) Gummer, Alex Lippold, Zachary Cyphert and Erika Cyphert; her former daughter-in-law, Mary Lippold; two brothers-in-law, William (Mary) Lippold of St. Augustine, Fla., and Larry (Joanne) Lippold of Butler; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Lippold of Austintown, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sisters, Ellen Sherman and Mary Elizabeth Protzman; and a brother, William Protzman.

LIPPOLD — The family of Dorothy L. Lippold, who died Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, will receive friends at 10 a.m. with a memorial service following in the church sanctuary at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, in the welcome center of East Main Presbyterian Church, 120 E. Main St., Grove City,
