Bernard Green
Bernard Paul “Bernie” Green, 74, of Kittanning, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Bernie was born Feb. 14, 1950, in Butler, the son of Joseph N. and Alice O. (McCollough) Green.
Bernie was a 1967 graduate of Butler High School and lived in Valley Township for the past 30 years. He was a service technician with Guardian Protection Services for over 32 years. He enjoyed golfing, reading, being outdoors and camping. Bernie loved watching football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.
His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 43 years, Audrey J. (Schaeffer) Green, whom he married Sept. 26, 1981; his children, Valerie A. Kachur and husband, Matthew, of Ford City, Natalie M. Baker and husband, Brian, of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., Tony Miles Green and wife, Robyn, of Kittanning, and Derek Paul Green and fiancée, Kirsten Baker, of Brunswick, Ohio; and 17 grandchildren, Joseph Kachur, Kallie Baker, Wyatt Baker, Allie Green, Logan Baker, Logan Green, Caitlyn Kachur, Lila Green, Wyatt Green, Madelynn Baker, Macy Green, Rowan Vandevort, Olivia Green, Killian Vandevort, Ryatt Green, Violet Green and Lorraine Baker.
Bernie also is survived by six brothers, Joseph N. Green and wife, Pat, of Butler; J.R. Green and wife, Peg, of Fenelton; Robert J. Green and wife, Rose, of Chicora; Charles E. Green of Butler; Fred T. Green and wife, Mary, of Butler; and Arthur W. Green and wife, Joann, of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dorothy E. Finn; and an infant brother.
GREEN — Family and friends of Bernard Paul “Bernie” Green, who died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, will gather from 11 a.m. until the time of memorial services at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at First United Methodist Church, 301 N. Jefferson St., Kittanning, with the Revs. Terri Wells and Deb Kociban co-officiating.
Donations may be made in Bernie’s memory to First United Methodist Church.
