High school roundup: Hanna Dailey leads Karns City girls to blowout win; North Catholic pops Knoch

Hanna Dailey scored 16 points, 11 of them in the second half, to lead Karns City girls basketball to a 52-23 rout of North Clarion on Tuesday.

Hannah Summerville drained three 3-pointers, matching Dailey, to finish with 10 points for the home team. Naomi Venesky and Giada Bonetto chipped in eight points.

North Catholic 67, Knoch 35 — Freshman Harmony Jones scored a team-high 15 points to lead North Catholic to a section win over Knoch.

Brady Wehner added 13 points and Sam Weir 12. Each sank two 3-pointers on a night when the Trojanettes (17-4, 11-2 WPIAL Section 1-4A) made eight total.

Neah Ewing scored a team-high 13 for the Knights (10-10, 9-4). Burgard added eight.

NC trailed Oakland Catholic by one game in the section standings heading into the night.

Redbank Valley 66, Union/A-C Valley 16 — Kya Wetzel scored a team-high nine points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Falcon Knights.

Boys basketball

Josh Book scored 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in Slippery Rock’s 54-43 win over Mercer on Monday, snapping a two-game losing streak.

Anderson Franco scored 15 points for the Rockets (12-7, 5-3 District 10 Region 4)

Woodland Hills 53, Seneca Valley 51 — Owen Congdon scored a game-high 18 points, but the Raiders were held to just nine points in the fourth quarter and could not hang onto a tight lead.

Congdon tallied 16 of his points in the first 24 minutes. Tyler Pepin finished with 16 points, including 14 in the first three quarters. The Wolverines had four in double figures, led by Donshae Mosley’s 17.

Mars 68, Lincoln Park 60 — No further details were available from the Planets’ win. Mars (12-9, 5-5 WPIAL Section 4-5A) is locked into a district playoff spot.

Highlands 64, Freeport 51 — Danny King had 22 points for the Yellowjackets in the loss.

Butler beat Penn-Trafford 800-61x to 785-52x on Tuesday. No stats were provided.
