Public reception to kick off Nature Art Showcase in Franklin
A “Meet the Artists” reception combining refreshments and the opportunity to interact with artists kicks off the two-day Nature Art Showcase at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, in the Barrow-Civic Theatre, 1223 Liberty Street, Franklin.
This is the ninth annual Nature Art Showcase, in which artists depict four seasons of outdoor recreation and natural landscapes of northwestern Pennsylvania. The showcase is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Barrow-Civic Theatre, 1223 Liberty St., Franklin.
This is a free public family-friendly event featuring original art items prepared by 76 artists from 11 Pennsylvania counties. Many items on display will be available for on-site purchase.
The Nature Art Showcase is jointly operated by two nonprofit corporations — Penn Soil Resource Conservation and Development Council and the Council on Greenways and Trails.
