Laura Mae (Bicehouse) Knox, 97, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Butler.

Laura, known to most as “Dolly,” was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Callery, to the late Charles A. Bicehouse Sr. and Cleo M. (Marburger) Bicehouse.

Laura graduated from Evans City High School in 1943. She worked at Mine Safety in Callery for many years.

She was a member of Old Union Presbyterian Church, Mars, and often attended Crestview Community, Callery.

Dolly enjoyed listening to gospel music (especially the Men from Mars quartet) playing bingo, going to the Meadows and baking and cooking. She was nicknamed by the grandkids as “Grandma with the cookies.” Above all, she was a loving, caring woman who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Dolly leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Jim (Kathy) Knox of Lexington N.C., John (Carol) Knox of Connoquenessing Township, Jeff (Tracey) Knox of Harrisville and Jackie (Bob) Carson of Connoquenessing Township; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her sisters-in-law/friends, Doris Bicehouse and Nancy Knox. She was also loved and cherished by many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, Lester A. Knox, on Jan. 11, 2020. She and Lester were married for 72 years.

Also preceding her in death were three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Charles “Artie” Bicehouse and his wife, Marion; Kenneth Bicehouse and his wife, Ethel May; and Jack Bicehouse.

KNOX — A funeral service for Laura “Dolly” Mae (Bicehouse) Knox, who died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, PA 16046, with the Rev. Peter C. de Vries, Ph.D., church pastor, officiating.

Interment will be at Old Union Church Cemetery, Mars.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Old Union Presbyterian Church School Lunch Program.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
