Margaret Evelyn (Currie) Bailey, 87, of Emlenton, passed away peacefully at home Saturday evening, Feb. 8, 2025, surrounded by her family as she entered into the presence of the Lord.

Born in Butler County, Margaret was the eldest child of the late George and Mildred Currie. She was baptized at Muddy Creek Presbyterian church in 1938.

Margaret was a graduate of Grove City High School where she met her husband, James (Jim) David Bailey. Margaret and Jim were married at Rocky Springs RPCES Church and celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in 2024.

Margaret was a devoted wife and loving mother to her five children, who are the grateful recipients of her legacy of unfailing kindness, unwavering faith and her ability to take delight in the natural world around her, which she instilled in them. Margaret was an active member of Calvary OPC.

She is survived by her husband, James Bailey; her children, Marsha (Stephen) Johnson, Patty Bailey, Jeannie (Chad) Sutton and Andrew (Jamie) Bailey; and by her grandchildren who she adored, Olivia (Daniel) Burgher, Nathan Johnson, Jacqueline Sutton, Sara Sutton and Dean Sutton.

Margaret was preceded in death by her eldest son, Bradley Bailey.

2 Peter 3:8, “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” And because we do not grieve as those without hope, we can say, “We’ll see you in a minute, mom.”

BAILEY — Family of Margaret Evelyn (Currie) Bailey, who died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, will welcome friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, at JAMISON MCKINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.

Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 443 N. Main St., Harrisville with the Rev. Peter J Puliatti officiating.
