Bartram Rothen

Rothen

Bartram “Bart” Frank Rothen, 57, of Ford Cliff, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at West Penn Hospital, after a courageous 17-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

Born May 8, 1967, in Natrona Heights, he was a son of the late Robert and the late Debra (Murray) Rothen.

Bart was employed as a project coordinator with Toy Pipeline Contractors.

A community-minded man, he had 35 years of volunteer fire and EMS service, beginning in Saxonburg and Citizens’ Hose companies. For the last 12 years, Bart was with Ford Cliff Volunteer Fire Co., where he was a past chief, captain, lieutenant and trustee.

Bart was a member of the Ford City VFW, Ford City Eagles and the Latin American Club. He enjoyed trail riding on his quad, John Deere tractors, hunting and attending family events. He also loved tinkering in his garage — there wasn’t anything he couldn’t build or fix. There was always a special place in his heart for his Jeep, attending trail rides and Jeepfest with his “brother,” Mike.

Bart is survived by his wife, Beth (Hancock) Rothen, whom he married on Oct. 10, 2019; his stepson, Dylan Smith; his brother, Rob (Cammie) Rothen; his special “brother”-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Karen Shearer; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Judy Germy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Rothen; and his mother, Debra (Murray) Rothen.

ROTHEN — Friends of Bartram “Bart” Frank Rothen, who died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, will be welcomed from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at WELCH FUNERAL SERVICE, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, with Father Brandon Cooper officiating.
