Pittsburgh office aids South College achievements
South College, which has an office in Cranberry Township, said it now has 1,000 students enrolled in “competency-based education programs.”
The college, which has various offices across the country, said in a news release that the milestone “was made possible by its operations in Pittsburgh.”
South College is a private college that has over 14,000 students, offers programs at multiple levels and is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. It was founded in Knoxville, Tenn., and has an online operations center in Cranberry.
The news release said competency-based education is a type of education that allows a student to make progress at their own pace, while “demonstrating mastery of course content.”
