Slippery Rock school board establishes new teaching position for 2025-26
The Slippery Rock Area School Board unanimously approved the creation of a new full-time teaching position for the 2025-26 school year on Monday, Feb. 10.
“The position is to offer a career-technical program for education, similar to what is offered at the Vo-Tech,” superintendent Alfonso Angelucci said. “This will be for students who are interested in education as a career.”
Now that the position has been established, the board will be looking for someone to fill it for the 2025-26 school year. According to Angelucci, the position will be offered internally at first.
The board also unanimously approved a three-year contract with Edlio at an annual fee of $4,200 for the district’s website content management system. According to Angelucci, the contract renewed an existing agreement with Edlio.
An agreement with Intermediate Unit 13, which is in effect from April 1 until March 31, 2028, was also unanimously approved. The agreement is for IU13 to perform background checks and clearances on necessary personnel.
The next Slippery Rock Area School Board meeting is set for March 24 at 7:30 p.m.
