Sylvia Ann (Panak) DiMarco
Sylvia Ann (Panak) DiMarco, of Prospect, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2025.
The daughter of Stephen A. Panak and Anna (Buk) Panak, a coal miner and a homemaker, she was born in Daisytown, Pa., on July 13, 1935.
She attended California State Teachers College, graduating with a degree in early childhood education. She spent 35 years teaching mainly kindergarten students in the Shaler Area School District. For over 50 years, Sylvia was an avid tennis player, sometimes taking to the courts four times a week. She especially loved playing doubles tennis. She was a fierce competitor and strong woman who supported her family in all their endeavors.
Married for over 60 years to Donald F. DiMarco (deceased 2020), she had one daughter, Danette DiMarco, and one grandson, Harold S. Domville. She and Don nurtured lives in both Allison Park and Muddy Creek Township, Butler County, cultivating their properties as flower garden havens.
The pride of her life was her grandson, with whom she spent many hours just hanging out and laughing. She will be deeply missed and her openness and acceptance has left a lasting imprint on all who loved and knew her.
