Police Reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
Jan. 1 — James Ford, 41, of Butler, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs following a traffic stop in Penn Township. Police said Ford was also in possession of a brick of heroin and related drug paraphernalia.
Feb. 3 — Police investigated the theft of Texaco model bank and truck collectibles valued at $1,200, music equipment valued at $300, fishing supplies valued at $200, baseball cards valued at $300, two Husquavarna saws valued at $300 and other tools. Police said the theft occurred between Dec. 26 and Feb. 3 from a storage unit in Allegheny Township.
Feb. 3 — Richard Michael Nolan, 34, of Butler, was charged with felony receiving stolen property and misdemeanor DUI following a Feb. 2 traffic stop in Franklin Township. Police said Nolan showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests, but his blood alcohol content was not included in the report.
Feb. 3 — Michael Q. Brown Jr., 57, of Mars, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts following a Jan. 18 traffic stop in Adams Township. Police said Brown had a blood alcohol content of 0.147%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
Feb. 5 — Robert Lewis Northime Jr., 58, of Chicora, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts and one misdemeanor count each of controlled substance possession and drug paraphernalia possession following a Dec. 20 traffic stop in Bruin. Police said Northime had methamphetamine in his system and was in possession of cocaine and a red straw with residue.
Feb. 4 — Shaun Michael Hargett, 46, of Sarver, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts and one misdemeanor count each of controlled substance possession and drug paraphernalia possession following a Jan. 13 traffic stop in Franklin Township. Police said Hargett displayed signs of impairment, had a box of mushrooms in his vehicle and had cocaine, marijuana and fentanyl in his system.
Feb. 2 — Zachary Thomas Conner, 21, of Mars, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault following a Feb. 2 incident. Police said Conner punched his father on the left side of his face.
Feb. 4 — Joshua Ryan Friel, 30, of Monaca, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest related to a Jan. 19 incident. Police said Friel had a blood alcohol content of 0.139% and refused orders from officers. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
Feb. 5 — Derek Wickman, 50, of Freeport, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of DUI and reckless endangerment following a Jan. 24 crash. Police said Wickman was driving with his mother and crashed before leaving the scene. Police said he showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests and refused a legal blood draw.
Feb. 6 — Troy Jordan Whitmire, 28, of Butler, was charged with felony aggravated harassment by a prisoner related to a Jan. 21 incident. Police said Whitmire spit on the face and arm of a corrections officer.
Feb. 5 — Maxwell James Bowers, 33, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor theft related to a Jan. 15 incident. Police said Bowers leased $924.24 of scaffolding equipment and failed to return it.
Feb. 6 — Sean Patrick Barrett, 39, of West Sunbury, was charged with felony false written statement and misdemeanor statement under penalty related to a Dec. 19 incident. Police said Barrett answered falsely on a firearm application.
Feb. 4 — Brandon Tyler Muchow, 30, of New Castle, was charged with one felony count each of theft and receiving stolen property related to a Jan. 8 incident. Police said Muchow stole Smith & Wesson 9 mm and .40 caliber pistols, a milk crate of ammunition and an Apple iPad keyboard.
Feb. 5 — Justin Christopher Wieber, 25, of Cranberry Township, was charged with misdemeanor mail theft related to a Jan. 10 incident. Police said Wieber stole a package valued at $635.99.
Feb. 6 — Marshall Robert Johnson, 26, of Baden, was charged with misdemeanor accident involving damage following a Dec. 2 crash. Police said Johnson rear-ended a vehicle and left without exchanging information.
Feb. 6 — Melissa Dawn Brandt, 39, of Sewickley, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft following a Feb. 4 incident. Police said Brandt attempted to steal $362.05 of merchandise.
