Robert ‘Mouse’ Dickey
Robert Orrin “Mouse” Dickey, 66, of Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, passed away peacefully at his residence with his wife by his side on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, following an illness of approximately a year and a half.
He was born in New Castle on Jan. 28, 1959, to John Charles “Chuck” Dickey and Jenny Marie McCurdy Dickey. He married Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Brydon on June 21, 1986. He started driving truck at an early age, with most of his early trucking years spent alongside his brothers in Dickey Trucking. He retired from Walmart Transportation as a truck driver.
He was of the Presbyterian faith and grew up in the Wolf Creek Church. Mouse graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1977. He enjoyed hunting pheasants and deer, being outdoors, hiking and camping. He enjoyed traveling and visited many noteworthy and interesting sites. He was an avid follower of NASCAR. He was great at woodworking and built a lot of things. He was always proud and always supportive working as “crew” for wife Beth’s ultra trail running. He loved his Gordon setter, Bailey.
Survivors include his wife, Beth, at home; sisters, Ruth Keith of Slippery Rock and Evelyn Vargo of New Castle; brothers, James (Kim) Dickey, Fred (Connie) Dickey and Mark (Debbie) Dickey, all of Slippery Rock; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two twin brothers, David “Neff” and Dennis “Danger.”
DICKEY — There will be no public services for Robert Orrin “Mouse” Dickey, who died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025. The family will have a private gathering.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team.
